1. Is BNYS a recognized course?
Yes it is. It is one of the AYUSH systems. In Tamilnadu the BNYS course is affiliated to the Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai and after the completion of the course they can practice the system of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences as “A” class Medical practitioner.
2. What are the higher education prospects for BNYS?
After completion of BNYS one can pursue MD from recognized university in the branches of Naturopathy, Yoga and Acupuncture. Or can go for Masters in Public Health, Anatomy, Physiology, Neurosciences and Psychology. Research interested graduates can pursue their Phd Programme in Yoga.
3. Is the course completely residential?
Yes, the course is completely residential. The student should be experiencing the complete culture and science of Naturopathy right from the beginning in terms of yoga practice, food regimen and the Naturopathy culture of treating patients.
4. How is the internship program schedule?
One year of a rotatory internship with stipend and accommodation will be planned by the Institution and allocated to the students. Great care is taken in choosing the places for internship with concern towards the safety, exposure , skills training that a student will acquire all through the year. They will be allocated to almost 7 to 8 hospitals across the country with varied treatment specialities which makes the student graduate as a versatile Naturopath.
5. Are Government postings applicable for BNYS?
Yes. As of permanent Medical Officer as well as Lecture posts are available in the Government Sector, the recruitment of which is done through exams conducted by the Medical Recruitment Board (MRB) followed by counseling. Also Doctors work in the Government PHC’s and Hospitals under the NRHM schemes.
6. What is the holiday’s pattern in the college?
Students are given a summer vacation after their University Exams each year. Other than these they will be given the Government declared holidays. Personal leave may be availed in unavoidable situations with prior permission.
7. Are the BNYS doctors eligible to practice abroad?
They are permitted to practice abroad, many are there as well. In some countries the graduates may have to clear the qualifying examination of that particular country.
8. Why should I choose BNYS among the AYUSH systems?
