As part of the ongoing celebrations of the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2026), JSS Institute of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (JSSINYS) organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programme on 16 June 2026 for the first-year Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) students of Vaidhyaratnam College, with the objective of promoting interdisciplinary learning and enhancing awareness of holistic healthcare practices.
The programme witnessed the active participation of 76 students and 4 faculty members, creating an enriching platform for academic interaction and experiential learning. The academic session commenced with a comprehensive lecture on the principles, philosophy, and therapeutic foundations of Naturopathy, highlighting its holistic approach to health promotion, disease prevention, and lifestyle-based healthcare.
As part of the programme, the participants were taken on a guided visit to JSS Nature Cure and Yoga Hospital, where they were introduced to various treatment departments, therapeutic procedures, and clinical protocols practiced in the institution. The students had the opportunity to observe different naturopathic and yogic treatment modalities, enabling them to gain valuable firsthand exposure to their practical and clinical applications.
The CME programme served as a significant educational initiative, broadening the participants’ understanding of integrative healthcare and fostering greater appreciation for the role of Naturopathy and Yoga in contemporary medical practice. The event also contributed to strengthening awareness regarding the therapeutic potential of these systems among future Ayurveda professionals.
