JSSINYS History

JSS Institute of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences or JSSINYS is the first and the largest BNYS college in Tamil Nadu and the second-largest in India. JSSMVP, Mysuru, established this institute in 1997 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, to offer world-class education in naturopathy and yoga.

The college campus sits on 55 acres of grassy fields and wooded areas. The college is affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, and has an annual intake of 100 students. It offers 5 1/2 years Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS). Plans are on the anvil to start MD – Naturopathy, MD- Yoga and MD – Acupuncture and Energy Medicine.

Together, the college and the hospital are recognized for high-quality research, education and clinical care in naturopathy and yoga. Many alumni of the college have made a strong mark in naturopathy and yoga through their clinical expertise, caring attitude and research capabilities.

With 30 to 40% of the students hailing from outside Tamil Nadu, the college boasts of student diversity and multiculturalism. An intense and dynamic curriculum, experienced and senior faculty and state-of-the-art infrastructure are some of the other features, which set JSSINYS apart.

1998 Inauguration of JSS Nature Cure and Yoga Hospital in the same campus
2000 Shifted Hospital to a five acre campus at Longwood, Mysore Road, Ooty
2010 College and Hospital was shifted to a 55 acre green campus at Navakkarai, Coimbatore
2010 Inauguration of JSSINYS, Coimbatore
2014 Students uptake increased to 100
2016 Inauguration of JSS Nature Cure and Yoga Clinic at Doctor’s House, R.S. Puram, Coimbatore.
